Making turkey soup and talking with Kelly

Kelly had a little bit of a sore throat last night so we stayed home together while Lorena went to work out at the gym with Christian.  We had a great time.  Kelly chatted with a couple of her friends on the computer, called a friend from Oregon and just generally filled me in on what was going on while I worked on finishing Christian’s homeschool schedule through the beginning of next year.  I finished Kelly’s schedule over last weekend.  We got all the leftover stuff from the turkey Kelly and Christian cooked on Saturday, put it in a pot with water and put it on the stove to simmer for the night.  On the way home from her workout, Lorena got some garlic cloves and a few other things to put into the soup.  It is going to be great!

Hopefully, we will find out soon. It won’t be done until later tonight or tomorrow!

My grandma used to make home made noodles to go in the turkey soup. After Thanksgiving dinner
at Grandma’s was my favorite meal, even better than the actual holiday.

Homemade noodle soup topped with a sprinkle of nutmeg! YUMMY. I think I can smell it!

You know what? I think we blew it. We used potatoes and we really should have used noodles. Our first Thanksgiving after we were married, we made turkey soup with noodles. It was AWESOME. This time it was good, but not great. Next time, at Christmas, we will use noodles, thanks to your timely comment!
