"In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." –John 16:33

It finally happened

On Saturday, Lorena mentioned that she thought Christian was getting taller.  For the last year or so we have been measuring Lorena, Kelly, and Christian against each other to see who is tallest.  For a long time it seemed like Kelly and Christian were the same with Lorena just a smidgen taller than the both of them.  Saturday, however, we found that Kelly is maybe a half an inch taller than Lorena and Christian is about a half an inch taller than Kelly.

Lorena said, “Well, I am still pretty tall.”

Of course we all agreed with her as we have learned that is the safest course of action in these types of situations.

That’s always an exciting discovery! 😀

All I say to my kids is “good luck!”

Haha, I have been the shortest for quite some time now….Shea (14) is 6′, Peyton (12) is about 5’8″, Emma (18) is 5’5″, and Mattisse (15) is about 1/2 inch shorter than Emma, but Tisse is still growing and I think that Emma has reached her max height, so Tisse may pass Emma up in the near future. Unfortunately I am only 5’3″….much too short for my weight! But I am working on that!

When I think of tall I think of Lorena.

Audrey–That was what the Murphy’s said when they had Jared!
Ruthie–Wow, your kids are spread all over the place in size. We are more monolithic in our stature. Napoleanesque, you might say–at least in terms of height.
Lyle–You catch on very, very quick. I actually pays off (usually in mole and tacos) to take that tallness position.

I think Lyle deserves some food….I have never made mole. Is it poured over chicken, and does it contain chocolate?

Hey, while I am on the subject of Mexican food, I always see these conical shaped, cellophane wrapped things that have the appearance of brown sugar….is that what they are, and what are they called. How do you use it? If this isn’t a Mexican thing, sorry, I live in a very multicultural area….could be some other ethnic food.

Piloncillo!!! Anything you want to make sweet benefits from this. It is a brown sugary thing.

    Grate it? Chop it?

Thanks for the link. I think I will pick up a cone and experiment.
