An eclipse of the moon

We got up at a little before six this morning to see an eclipse of the moon.  It was very cool, but it went down behind a house before it started coming out of the eclipse, so we missed that.  School is going very, very well.  This year we seem to be a lot more organized than in years past.  The kids are getting up at 6:00 am, so they are starting about an hour and a half earlier than last year.  They are finishing up by 12:30 or 1:00 everyday, even when they have guitar or piano.  Lorena, Kelly, and Christian went down to our club last night to work out for the first time.  There was not much for Christian to do until Lorena and Kelly finished being on the machines because you have to be thirteen to work on the equipment.  After they finished working on the machines, Kelly and Christian swam laps for awhile.  It was great, but we are going to have to figure out a way to keep Christian for sitting around doing nothing while Lorena and Kelly work out.

  1. Excited Homeschooling Mom

    Hey you guys,

We’re on the second day of school with Sonlight, and it is going soooooooo very well! We are having a blast, and so far the two different areas of study we picked out are just the right levels for the kids. Right now they are listening to their Spanish while I sneak a peek at your blog and other news in the world! After our convention, I got the inspiration to work in emails, letters and other information from the countries Addie is studying that pertain to the friends and work in those countries. This makes it VERY meaningful to her and seems to bring her some greater sense of the religion she and we love.

One thing we will do different next year? Start earlier!!!! This settled-ness about them would be a very desirable trait to have at conventions next year!

That is AWESOME Audrie!! We are really taking off right now. You were absolutely right for picking what you did and for having confidence that Mom knows best. I am very excited to hear how it goes with your program. Your idea about connecting with the friends in these other countries is a great one. We are loving working on our time lines together, but are getting ready for a couple of breaks to go to Shelby and Denton. We are hoping Chappell’s kids make it for a day or two of one of those conventions. Greetings to all there.
