Man, it seems like we have been working through weekends forever. I worked at the GaugeCam laboratory again this weekend while the kids spent virtually the entire weekend on labs, papers, and other homework. They work late into the night most nights, too. They have been really troopers. Fortunately, they should have every thing complete (with the exception of one small speech for Christian) by tomorrow so they can have a work-free Thanksgiving.
I found out that I had been (unknowingly) spamming everyone in one of my mail account contact lists because I made the mistake of giving a password to Facebook. The more I engage with Facebook, the less I like it. There is no room for an in-depth conversation, their business practices, in my opinion, are truly nasty. I am trying to rethink the whole thing. Lorena and the kids stay in touch with friends, but it might be too high a price to pay. I will sleep on it a few nights and see if I am still mad.

I permanently deleted my facebook account. You can deactivate or delete, which is also confusing to some people. I’m sure you already are aware: deactivate and it only takes one sign-in to pull it all back up. I was totally overwhelmed with facebook and the power therein.

I did not know that Lynn! Thanks for the note. I think I am going to do that. It is such a pain and seems to be less benign than a lot of other services. I REALLY like blogging a lot better. It seems like it is more personal or more complete or something.

I know what you mean. I think perhaps some people wouldn’t see the difference in blogging and facebook, but to me facebook is like a big party while blogging is like having a cup of tea. Most blogs are focused, and even though someone is sharing personal information on a blog, there’s usually a reason or a focus that gets shared over and over. There’s a depth to most blogging that I don’t see on facebook.

Exactly Lynn. I just disabled my Facebook. Lorena will let me use hers. I enjoy the whole blog thing a lot and have decided to stick with that. It seems like you get to know people better on blogs–they have personalities all their own and there is a sense of community in them that Facebook cannot duplicate.
