The last I heard from Bryan was that he was at -12 in our diet competition. I was at about that at one time, too, but with the move, I did not take any time to think about dieting. Now that I have been here for several months and with homeschool’s start returning us to a routine, I am back in the fight. I am now at -6. Hopefully Bryan, who is at convention, will gain a few pounds over the next couple of days so we can turn this back into more of a two-sided contest again. Lorena has signed us up at a gym and I hope to start working out there tomorrow. Stay tuned.

And so it begins. . . (again)

Oh the on-going battle with the weighty issues of life!! I often say that if I lived in a very poor 3rd world country for 5 years, I would come home looking just the same…maybe losing 2 1/2#! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Well we are leaving for New York tomorrow…taking the Red-eye. For us it is like the country mouse goes to the city. The good news is that we are going with Dean and Phyllis and they take good care of us 🙂 One thing I’m really looking forward to is Ellis Island and learning more about my grandfather and great-grandfather and great-grandmother and the aunts and uncles that came to America as Germans living in Russia. Then when we return from our trip, Dale Benjamin is coming to show his slides of Russia today!! It is sorta fun to think of being closer to you guys for a few days even tho we won’t see you! Love you and miss you! Have good conventions if you can figure out the dates 🙂

JoAnn, that all sounds WAY awesome. You will love New York. My great-grandmother came to Ellis Island from Finland in the late 1800’s, too. I would love to go there to see if I could find her. We are way envious about Dale. I do not think he is coming out this way. As for the weight thing, I have found that I must have been eating WAY bad for a lot of years. I started eating breakfast (which I have not done for years) — a soft boiled egg, a piece of toast, and a glass of orange juice, lunch — a lean cuisine meal, and dinner — a pretty good sized dinner with not too much bread, rice, or potatoes, but more food than breakfast and lunch. I have been doing it for a week and a half, I am not hungry and I have lost seven pounds. Amazing. I am hoping that when I start working out, it will overcome the next plateau!

Don’t forget to get spinach on your Subway sandwich! Dark green leafy vegetables are the best!
I went to Subway this week in your honor!

Bryan
a couple Boring thoughts…
naturally… need to eat less… move more.
spiritually… need to feed more… follow closer.
Lambs are born looking for a place to die.
We need to live where we want to die.
Go Lambs! We need to encourage each other to die to self.
Bryan
I made it to the WHOLE convention. Stayed in the dorm, and made it up everyday for the all you can eat biscuits, scrambled eggs and hot cereal breakfast. So… all the eating and sitting… think I’ll wait till at LEAST Friday to weigh in!
Visiting with Milo & Sarah between meetings is always a bonus. 🙂
It was a wonderful 4 days!
Go Lambs!
Dad
That sounds great Bryan. The lambs thing is something I really need to pay attention to. I will try to post a couple of thoughts here too, after Denton.
