Our new Chapman Kids Website is now up and ready to be developed. I put up the first test post for the blog yesterday. In addition, I put a picture of the family as a place holder for the website and got the Nvu program set up on the Linux computer at home. I think Christian can figure out how to do the web development all by himself, but I will give both Kelly and Christian a few lessons on webpage develeopment and have them write up a procedure for themselves so they will have some reference if they need it.
I believe the blogging will require some instruction for both of them. The plan is to have each of them do a blog entry twice per week. We will write about what is going on in homeschool, any trips we take, Kiwi and Rubix the tortoise shell cat sisters, articles and letters to the editor we submit for publication to the newspaper and various magazines, research reports, etc. I expect this to be a work in progress. We will try to define what the blog and website will be as we go along. The purpose of this effort is to provide a platform for the kids to learn how to develop and maintain a website and blog as part of their homeschool program. It will also be nice to have a platform for them to publish some of their written work and art.
