Lorena’s bookcase project

Day 732 of 1000

Lorena paints a bookshelfLorena is passionate about home improvement.  I put this picture up previously, when she was refinishing a bookcase last month, but it is one of the ones that got lost when our service provider went out of business.  It was important to put it back up.  We plan to move back out west within the next year our two.  Our plan is to move to an area where there is a big university.  We like to live within easy driving distance to a town that has a big university.  Also, we want to buy a piece of trash house on as nice a lot as we can find, specifically so Lorena can do a remodel.  The amount of satisfaction Lorena gets out of this sort of thing is very great.  We needed to have this picture back up.  I am glad I found it.

..what is wrong with this picture? … a clean painter, black paint to boot, and look at that WHITE paint bucket she’s using! Hardly a speck…. d:-D I guess I shouldn’t judge Lorena by my own messy workspaces!

That IS amazing! The funny deal is that she was actually doing work when the picture was taken–notice the wet paint under the brush. What is even more cool is that you noticed this!

Way to go Lorena. You can come to my house. Ha! Love the pic of Milo and Sara.

As soon as you know where your kids are going to graduate school, and I am assuming they are attending on the West Coast, you should seriously think about buying that piece of trash house. Homes are selling fast here and you could probably get one pretty cheap. Prices are rising and I have several acquaintances who are making a killing in the market right now.

And by the way, Emma just took her GRE and didn’t specifically study for it as her time was limited, but did work through a book that gives good tips on how to get the best score possible. She also took a few practice tests. She did well enough that she can apply to any PT school in CA without being excluded. She is working on those applications and gathering transcripts and letters of recommendation this month. Her head is about to explode! The competition is fierce! Really fierce!

It sounds like Emma did really great! I am hoping our kids do that well. I am sure she will get in somewhere good. As for the house, we are thinking exactly that. I think we will probably be somewhere in Arizona because of my job. It is a delicate dance in our case because we need to sell the house, pay for all the grad school stuff, etc., etc.

Schools should PAY for the privilege of having your children attend graduate school at their institution.

We hope they can get research or teaching assistantships to help pay for it.
