The day before Kelly’s birthday, Christian started on a project to build a piñata for her. The piñata did not dry in time for the party, but it has turned into quite a good little art project. I am completely amazed on how well it is turning out in as much as he had NO help at all from Lorena, Kelly, or I. He found the project in a book, bugged us until we let him do it, then went to work. It is coming out great as can be seen below:

I also took some pictures of Kelly, now officially age eleven, and put them up in the photo gallery here.
We are just getting back into the swing of homeschool now. It is starting to go OK, but the kids have gotten behind on two or three things that we hope to get caught up before the weekend so we do not have to spend Saturday on school work. They did their third RealScience-4-Kids experiment and it went great, but they did not answer the end of experiment questions. I went back and checked in the experiment book and found they had not answered the questions for the previous two chapters either, so that is one of the things on which they will have to work. Kelly is turning in here article again for the Democrat Herald today. She has been pretty faithful doing that. The last thing on which they are a little behind is in reading. In Justin Morgan had a Horse that they are reading aloud together, they only have to read three chapters per day (instead of the normal two) for two days and they will be caught up. The big one is that Kelly is about five or six chapters behind on reading Around the World in Eighty Days because she would rather read other books and has already read this one once. She might get stuck doing a little of that reading over the weekend.
